Chimes

Fay Slimm.

Chimes..

Who has heard the very first whisper
of sonorous change catching the drift
in tremulous breeze as chimera quivers
and metallic poles shudder when myriads
of differing tones shake my wind-chimes ?

Who has measured the softest rustle
of leaves partaking in air's new bustle
playing new symphonies by gentle rote
with melodic key-changes in tuneful notes
made by the swing of my resonant chimes ?

Who has explained this exotic draw
of transfixing music, ringing in chorus
when pipes suspended high-ward swing
by continual singing the electrified mystic
of spell-striking life in my rhythmic chimes ?

'of sonorous change catching the drift'

'of leaves partaking in air's new bustle '

'of transfixing music, ringing in chorus'..
    (who can resist, such eloquence
    in poetry's vividly inked, imagery?!)
    as-Ever wonderfully worded, dear poet
    and yes, i too
    find the random, melody
    of wind blown chimes, somewhat
    mesmeric and magical

    • Fay Slimm.

Grateful as ever for your lovely review dear Mek - - so very pleased you enjoy wind chimes too.

Oh that wind or breeze playing on a sympathetic instrument can cast it's spell over you and before you know it the afternoon is gone and you are waking from a blissful snooze.
Yes i have heard these gentle sounds radiating their air of peace. Very chilled and relaxing, thieves of the active day.
Do i like them? Yes but no.

      • Fay Slimm.

Ha - well sometimes the chimes can clash with garden chores and those snoozes dont get the lawn cut - -- but glad you felt the sound of tinkling can become quite addictive dear D. Thanks very muchly for your read and comment.

Ah - -- good to hear you felt the piece was worth reading aloud Jerry - - chimes have appeal to those who like me find magic in their singing.

          Good write Fay.
Someone fixed up an amplifier for my chimes, so they would sound 100 times louder and drown out my singing. Doh! lol. Such are my adventures.

          • Fay Slimm.

Can just imagine how loud the chimes would sound then dear Orchi........... ha ha.

Those chimes can bring a feeling of peace over you except in the night when you are trying to get to sleep. Good words Fay.
