A lost child

Agatha_K

The weight of hopelessness, Suffocating I cannot breathe,

what will tomorrow bring,

Afraid to live to the fullest,

afraid to be me,

A lost child,

How can she make home,

when home is gone,

An alien in her surroundings,

All she knew is gone,

Trying to find her feet,

her feet are buried in the mud,

dragging her soul along the way,

Will someone hold her hand,

tell her it will be okay,

An ear to listen,

what weights on her chest,

Are you okay he asks,

she has no choice,

like a needle bursts her pain,

I feel lost,

I cannot see purpose along the way,

Who am I she wonders,

We all wonder along the way but appreciate the moment,

and just like that she took a deep breath and appreciated the moment that someone cared.

I liked your poem, The thought of a lonely girl feeling so lost in unfamiliar surroundings is sad and scary/ nicely penned.

Thank you for your feedback I really appreciate it! It is crazy when you write down your true feelings and read it from the adult perspective how painful your childhood was.. however something so freeing at the same time!
