Concrete Cages

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

Are we truly free or living in concrete cages?

Birth School, Work, Death, it's been going on for ages

Is there more? Is this really life?

This is not how we're supposed to live

The wages trickle down from rich to poor like water through a sieve

Restrictions, rules, law changes and that

Fast food, junk food, to make us all fat

The economy is all some people care

When money put over lives we must beware

Run The Jewels tried to tell us in "Sea Legs" and "Walking in the Snow"

They dumb down education, they don't want our minds to grow

All I can do so far is what I can

All I am is a singular man

Wake up, stop being a debt slave

Our vision all an illusion, wait till we no longer behave
