Cosmic Grand Scheme

anybody

As the curtain of daylight draws shut

                    As night falls.

 Shadows dance across the darkened

                          walls

Of a house silhouetted in the thin pale.                  moonlight of twilight

And the air there is the eerie sound of

                       silence

Coupled with the beating of my heart

And the breathing of my overtaxed lungs

My thoughts are of wondrous things

As I lie awake in bed gazing at the beauty of the heavens beyond

Unimaginable beauty never dreamt of

in my wildest of dreams

And all the Earth is but a piece of solar driftwood that Man has somehow inherited through the mysteries of time and space

Just a small afterthought in the grand scheme of cosmic things

Thanks for the nice positive review. You ought to check out my poem called "Baby Grand". It's about a Steinway Baby Grand piano
