I feel like the American supreme Court (majority male) has carried out an edict from the Catholic Church.
Personal opinion (of course - hard to do and I don't always do it): Issues , arguments etc should be the subject matter of the poem, rather than the commentary, so the poem could stand alone, in its own right.
