I feel like the American supreme Court (majority male) has carried out an edict from the Catholic Church.
Personal opinion (of course - hard to do and I don't always do it): Issues , arguments etc should be the subject matter of the poem, rather than the commentary, so the poem could stand alone, in its own right.

Over the past 10 days, the American Supreme Court has made decisions about the environment, handguns and abortion. Trump was given a wishlist by far right religious groups and decisions are being handed down as a consequence. I only wanted to point that fact out.
