A Regent's Tale (+1)

Kurt Philip Behm

Those hidden lies

breed louder cries,

deception setting in

What’s birthed in darkness

kills in light,

exposing deeper sins

The poison fostered

regent’s tale,

its message civic spun

For us to swallow

not to chew,

inscripted zero-sum

Strange Days

You can’t burn out

if not on fire

You can’t be hurt

without desire

You can’t be found

if never lost

You’ll never melt

without a frost

Your memory void

without a thought

You’re never freed

if never caught

You’ll never plant

without a seed

You need the words

to have a creed

The past depends

on present spent

The pawn shop thrives

on items lent

The morning lost

without the night

The truth abeyant

—wrong or right

    'A Vegan lawyer
    that feeds
on broken souls, by the hour

    Nature lover's
    People haters,
    Life's champions
    Universe's disparagers..

    Duality, is supreme
    in our tendencies
    While we strive
    for monogamy
    in our ideologies and perspectives
    our
loyalties, sold to the highest bidder
    meanwhile empathy, is devalued
    till, suffering's inflation
    has us kneeling, in search
    of that same, little mercy
we were too busy, to offer
    willingly...'
    Commonalities of Duality
    in our Tale of collectivist
    individuality's, Regal conformity..
    (as always, just a privilege
    to read your elegant poetry
    forgive me for attempting
    another feeble poetic reply
I just find your words, too
    inspiring
    to simply read and move-on..
    thanks for choosing to share)
    sorry
