Night Alone

chris frank

Did she even know, did she even see

A broken heart belonged to me.

A tale to tell, a story hidden

But did she see how it could all be rewritten.

Without a wall, no bridge to cross her

Like a fast flowing river, her love came coursing.
She could not see, she wasn’t listening

While life and love passed by, she sat and watched.

A final chance perhaps she realises

To make a step from dark to light.

I doubt she sees though, I doubt she hears it

It’s time and love

moving away, slipping beyond redemption.
