It doesn’t judge, it doesn’t slander, the way that I live,
I like the silent love, the tarmacadam madam gives,
like with my adventure, it ride’s both coarse and smooth,
as a cat’s eye lights the way, and the pothole makes me move.
Though I converse with my kind, that are inside the car,
a stronger speech blooms wordlessly, underneath the stars,
both before and after; I have bled for my art,
my peepers become a jeepster, for the road that beats my heart.
Even when you meander, you are straight with me,
as with telepathic thought, we uncover some revelry,
so; that I can escape that number, of 7.9 billion,
a population, that continues to stir up some oblivion.
If only we, the talking monkeys, could be more like you,
a shining example, to act less proud, to cause less a bruise,
unto each other, to yourself, and the planet we call home,
thank you, tarmacadam madam, for making sure I’m not alone.

- Comment from author about the poem: As the “annoying ginger” keeps saying, I’ve had a much busier spurt recently, and one of those reasons is that I’ve been gigging a bit more, which after the plague years of 2020 – 2021, is a great thing to behold indeed. Anyway, there is a thing that I’ve missed and have cherished, whilst I’ve been on tour in the past, and that thing is the road itself, so this little poem is a vote of thanks to the road, for being a friend, and for always being there (wink face followed by laughy face emoji, haha!) I hope that you enjoy the poem, I hope that when you travel by road, that your experience is just as worthwhile as mine, happy travelling, and as always, please do stay safe everyone.

You know that book 'The Road Less Travelled'? Or you reply 'Erm, dunno, not travelled it!' heehee.
If we dunno where we're going, how will we know when we've got there? Doh!

Thanks for the read orchidee, bless you for the double post, I've done it many times myself, so, like you, I've also told myself to be quiet too in the past, haha!
I hope that all is well.
Thanks AS. You been on that road less travelled? (title of a book). Don't worry if you haven't as it's been, erm, less travelled! lol.
I really like it!
Thanks for the read Resa71 and for your short and sweet comment.
I hope that all is well.
I am sure that road will take you and me into the wonderful places in our lives Ben.
Andy
Thanks for the read Andy, and I agree, let the road continue to be a friend; that we can depend on to make us smile.
I hope that all is well.
