Somewhere on a Family Tree
When I am all but gone
except for
a few old photographs
in albums
scattered here and there
perhaps ..
Or even worse than that
maybe ..
Nothing more than a single
leaf ..
Pinned strategically upon
some long
lost family tree somewhere
Feel free to
think of me with fond regard
For I did once
love you, with all my heart
and every single
thing I ever was, or owned ..

I was on (or in) a Family Tree, but the branch snapped off. Doh!
I talk some rubbish. lol.
You really should try to branch out more Mr. O .................... Neville 🙂
Will Fido let me branch out, if it means letting me hair down?!
This read brought me near tears with its raw and heartfelt honesty and am feeling free to think with fond regard of that special someone worth far more than old photos.......... x
thanking you kindly dear Fay, as always ............................ x
Such raw honesty here, Neville. Nicely written.
thank you my lovely Draven, it is a real pleasure to see you are back here again .. and I so hope you now feel able to stay .. Neville
Sometimes even giving your all ain't enough for some. It is a sad thought when we die we're all just photos in an album to be brought out now and again. Mind you, when we're in the clouds, so are our photos these days.
what a perfectly well reasoned and otherwise acceptable analysis my friend ........ thank you for adding it to the page .. Neville
This is just beautiful my dear friend. Such tender words that touch the soul. I like to think that all of your wonderful words, absorbed by the collective consciousness of this community, live on for all time.
Thank you so very much Bella, I truly do appreciate your visits and ongoing support .. Neville
Be nice to think I had an effect on someone which lasted beyond my existence
Your piece will require a pretty tall marble column, but would be, for you, worthwhile, Neville.
I don't need that pedestal .. but since you left it there, I might just as well enjoy it while it lasts .. cheers Dave .. Neville
Marble lasts, my friend, you'll be right - or at least your memory will be.
Wow, what a beautiful powerful punch that was!
Thank you as ever and I'm honoured to know your leaf
Keep sailing buddy
Thank you kind sir .. that is a re-leaf ... and much appreciated mate ... Take care now .. Neville
So true for all of us - maybe.
Andy
