Dream Car.

Goldfinch60

I just could not believe it!

We had a fun croquet day

To celebrate the clubs anniversary,

A car drove up and parked,

A member got out,

And her husband got out,

Got out from the driver’s seat.

And there was his car,

I just could not believe it,

It was my dream car,

It was an Aston Martin.

But not just any Aston Martin,

It was the DB 11,

The car I tell all that they can get me,

Get me for my birthday,

After all they can be bought easily,

They start at one hundred and forty seven,

One hundred and forty seven thousand pounds.

I just could not believe it,

There was my dream car,

I touched it,

I sat in it,

My day was made!

  • Comment from author about the poem: This made my day, a croquet club member arrived and her husband was driving an Aston Martin DB11. When my family ask me what I want for birthday or Christmas I always say and Aston Martin DB11.

Good write James (Bond), erm, Gold Andy! He had a DB5 I read.
A strange thing - I have a book - autobiography, where the 'auto' emphasises cars, the author says. Pictures of cars throughout are included.

I'm busy adding water to that ginger beer - it says on the bottle to add water. Hooray! I won't add it to your martini. Mr JB.

        a sexy car series
        aesthetics
        just getting better & better
        db9, was great as well
        although, DB5 still gets me..
        so happy for you
        reminds of of that catchy
        advert jingle
        'lord won't you buy me
        a mecedes benz
        my friends all drive...'
        only, for you
it would be 'an aston db11'
        lol
        thanks for sharing, Andy

Thank you Mek, it is a great car.

Why do I think they're going to make it all electric and ruin it?
What a car though, it just sits right and waits to be touched.

          • Goldfinch60

Very true Paul, making it electric would ruin it. A fabulous car.

My question; do you like your martinis stirred or shaken? My husband's dream car is a mint condition '57 Chevy, which lends itself more to a Busch Light. This was truly a fun read, wish you could have had a fun ride.

            • Goldfinch60

Shaken of course Bella. I hope your husband enjoys his Busch Light with you by his side as he sits in his Chevy.

              Andy
