King Of His Kingdom

Tune: Church Triumphant

('The Lord is King, lift up thy voice')

Psalm 47

********

O clap your hands, all you people

Shout unto God in triumph all

For the Lord most high, terrible* (*awesome)

Awesome, come now, unto Him call

He o'er all the earth a great King

Bring praises, worship to Him sing

He shall subdue peoples, nations

They shall be servants unto us

He shall choose our inheritance

Israel His people, not mere chance

God is gone up with a shout loud

With sound of trumpet, cloud's enshroud

Sing praises to our God and king

Let all their honours, tributes bring

Sing praises with understanding

And thankful too for each good thing

God reigns o'er heathen, sits on throne

His is the Lordship, His alone

Throne of His holiness, He great

Does tend to men* in their estate (*mankind)
