When love warms your heart with it's caress
The sands of time will nourish your soul
Happiness shall leave you breathless
Forget the heartache, don't ever regress
Cherish the greatest moments ever told
When love warms your heart with it's caress
Stand up straight and cherish all the best
Leave behind all the weary tears of old
Happiness shall leave you breathless
Let your heart pitter patter with finesse
Lets its rhythm make you feel whole
When love warms your heart with it's caress
Let the sunshine of love always impress
Let its warmth inside you take hold
Happiness shall leave you breathless
Let your radiant smile appear fearless
Love's caress can make you feel whole
When love warms your heart with it's caress
Happiness shall leave you breathless

What a gem of a love-song written so well in the villanelle style and full of romantic invite - - loved the fervour in the final stanza - great read Dove.
Awe, thanks dearest Fay.. Much appreciated!
Wonderful words Dove, love is so very special.
Andy
Thanks Andy, always great to hear from u
Hey JK you are indeed the mistress of the villanelle .. which of course, is very near almost .. an anagram of me ..
Well a guy can wish can't he Nevillanelle 🙂
Good write Dove.
My, erm, less interesting poem starts: 'One day I was breathless, running to catch a bus....' lol.
Better breathless running to catch, than being chased…
While not interested in love poetry (feel I am always apologising) , the villanelle is a different matter.. Your unforced coherence here, given the strict form, is faultless, Dove.
Thanks again Dave, I appreciate you time and support
The writing of love poetry gives a glimpse within the heart of the poet who writes it, and here you've penned a masterpiece dove. Very nice work. 😉
Thanks AP much appreciated
I confess, I did not know what a villanelle was, so I googled it, and I'm so happy to be learning new things. This poem has such a gentle warmth and beauty, it's like being wrapped in a loving blanket. Thank you!
That awesome Bella, the format of the villanelle, I learned a year ago myself! It amazes me the many forms there are… best to u
