Pleasant Prospects

Tune: Christchurch

('Now is eternal life')

Psalm 16 v.1-6 parts

********

Preserve me, O God, keep

Watch over me, your sheep

For in you do I trust

Though I mere man of dust

Yet made in your image, likeness

Look on me, comfort me, and bless

O may soul, to the Lord

You have said, this your word

That you are my Lord, my

Goodness here by and by

Is nothing apart from you for

You the sole good one evermore

And to believers here

Your goodness does appear

You made them excellent

Salvation you them sent

My soul in you and them delights

Bring us light, banish darkness nights

The Lord my portion be

Shall satisfy for me

My inheritance too

He upholds me anew

The lines are fallen unto me

Within pleasant boundaries, see

A goodly heritage

I have, God's Son, the bridge

The way that man may come

To God, their heavenly home

Help us, Lord, spread the gospel free

So mankind saved eternally
