Life's Arrow.

Goldfinch60

Sometimes life can be like an arrow.

An arrow can only be shot by pulling it backward,

And life can be like that.

It can be pulled back into the depths of sorrow.

But when that arrow is let go

It fires forward towards its target.

And life can do that,

It can move forward at speed

To take us all to that place,

That place of love and wonder.

So let us fire our arrows

Into that wonderful life that is there,

That is there waiting for us.

  • Fay Slimm.

A very apt metaphor that I had never before thought of dear Andy - - - -- thank you for the suggestion of becoming more skilled at shooting the arrow of life.

    • Goldfinch60

Thank you Fay, each day we learn to shoot that arrow of life in a better way.

      Good write Gold.
Fido shields me from Eros' arrows. he has a 10 foot wide shield. He never lets me have any 'excitement'. lol.

      • Goldfinch60

That excitement will be with you one day Orchi.

Yes, if I put Fido out the back garden! lol.

        • Bella Shepard

You've phrased this so beautifully, I'm ready to go through my quiver and fire away, into that wonderful place. This is definitely a fav!

          • Goldfinch60

So kind Bella, you will end up in that wonderful place.

I shot an arrow in the air
            And just for once I did know where;
As you predicted, it was fine -
We were together for a time….

You are providing me with inspiration, Andy – many thanks.

            • Goldfinch60

Thank you Dave. I hope that inspiration takes you to a wonderful place.

              Andy
