Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
I will return early January.
I will return early January.
‘We’re here because we’re here’ is all we can truly know.
The rest belief; buy if it suits you - give it a bow.
If you have peace of mind then that’s good enough for you;
It is with regret this is one meal I cannot chew.
(Or perhaps:
I have no faith - otherwise I would be there too.)

We all have our own ways of dealing with life Dave and whether they are right or wrong in other peoples eyes does not matter, if it suits each one of us the way we believe in our own lives is the way to be. I have found my way and you have found yours so all is good.
Andy
‘All is good’ has it, I think Andy. I have absolute tolerance for other’s religious beliefs and spirituality. As in a quite early piece of mine ”Finale”. I’ve never attacked any of the religious poets here – and that was not my intent with you.
I’ve started to respond to your daily posts with a quick quatrain, and your current piece was no exception……. Except that having posted, I thought it was a little sneaky in this particular instance to leave this in particular there, given it can be a sensitive topic, without others having the chance to chide me – which (see below) they have in the gentlest way….
BTW: please let me know if you would rather I did not pop in to your daily pieces with the odd verse…
I have no problems at all with you popping pieces into my verses, I am honoured in fact.
Keep well
Andy
It spelt disaster for others, via myself. It reminded me of part of a song, so I had to sing it of course - arrgghh! Therein lies the disaster.
You\'ve lost me, orchi - no doubt the sole purpose of your post....
When are you going to sing loud enough so that it makes it round the curvature of the earth...?
Each to their own I say .. and as long as no one gets hurt along the way, then its all is okay with me 🙂
No hurt intended, Neville .....no hurt received, so far.....
Peace of mind is a very rare and precious commodity.
And I have it....
Well, someone included something about 'disaster' in one comment on your poem - but can't seem to find it here now. I'm a confused laddie! lol.
Just keep on singing orchi - ignore the critics.
I believe if I wake up tomorrow, it'll be a great day. If I don't wake up, I'm sure the energy company will break down my door and cut me off.
Indeed Sir - but either way you won't be worried.
Let everybody be what they gotta be, believe what they gotta believe, and live like they gotta live. As long as they don't interfere with anyone else's life. Amen, I say. My humble opinion: every religion starts out emphasizing Love, but they all end up in a quest for Power. - whew! Now I feel better.
So, DD these four lines (5 with the option) say a lot. Freedom of choice is a very principled ideology.
If lived by everyone, there would be no hatred, and that's a good thing. However, some tend to worship Power and lose their morality along with their faith. Well-spoken DD. - Phil A.
Many thanks Phil - I really appreciate that. Valued. More than I expected from anyone.
Apologies for my tardy reply. PC troubles have kept me out of action for a while.
Well Dave I have to agree. I have no proof otherwise. Belief, yea we all got em. But that's all they are. It doesn't stop me from beeing happy though. Nicely written.
Stay happy, Soren. I posted this one some time ago - so thanks for the resurrection. Andy - out of whom this started has it all summed up - so back to him at the top.
