Strange Sight.

Goldfinch60

Walking beside My River,

My lover by my side,

The sun was high in the sky

Shining it’s glorious light

Straight down on our love,

Our full and endless love,

Full and endless love for each other.

As we enjoyed this wondrous time,

This wondrous time together,

Strolling by My River hand in hand

We saw the strangest thing.

There was a young man,

A young man sitting on a bench,

Sitting on a bench reading.

So what was strange you think,

Well he was reading a book!

Reading a book,

Not a ‘phone!

Phew, an actual book! I saw that strange sight too.
I asked a shop if they had video tapes. They gave a me a look of 'Erm, no, not got any; we weren't around in the time of the dinosaurs, as you were'. Though rather a snooty store.

      Yes a real book!
The trouble is Orchi Betamax went out of fashion very quickly back in the day.

It was International Book Day or something similar, one day this week. Aww, why they laugh when we ask 'Got any Fax Machines?' They reply 'You a dinosaur?' Or have they been updated now?

It's a wonder you lived through that experience. Shocking! A young one actually reading....a book.
A clever presentation by you of the whole affair. Found it most amusing. - Phil A.

Thank you Phil, I did have to sit down and recover.

This I love! Where better to enjoy turning the pages of a book than in the beauty of nature. Kudos to that young man, and to you my friend for capturing it in this lovely poem.

Thank you Bella, so very true reading a book in Nature's realm is wonderful
