I lay awake all night,
The heat stopping me from sleeping.
The fan trying to keep me cool,
But sleep evades me.
Dawn arrives and up I get,
I go downstairs,
Open the doors ,
And a fine cooling breeze
Wafts through the house,
And in that cooling breeze
I write these words,
These words of gratitude
For the joy of Nature
Keeping me cool,
Even though I know
I know it will not last long,
As the heat of the day
Will once more ruin my day.

Good write Gold.
Thanks Orchi
Yes those cool natural breezes are so very welcome at the moment dear Andy - - shade is vital after sunrise.
So true Fay, that breeze in the morning was wonderful. No breeze this morning though.

I normally love it when the temperature rises .. but one can have too much of a good thing can't one .. 🙂

Yes that breeze can be wonderful Violet.

I too have been awakened early, but not because of the heart. My Muse was restless and needed my company. Well penned my poet friend.
Thank you AP, may your Muse fill you with fine words all the time.

My previous note SHOULD have read..."I too have been awakened early, but not because of the HEAT". My missing Boston "R", missing from my Boston accent for many years has resurfaced. 😁
Me and you both mate. I have reversed my days/nights many times just to enjoy the cooler downstairs temperatures and snooze in the arid daytime bed.
Yes it is worth doing that sometimes but at the moment d a the nights are almost as hot as the days.
Andy
This is so relatable. I went through a very hot summer in the last few months of pregnancy with my first child, and no air conditioning. I remember getting up in the middle of the night and going out on the front porch to catch a breeze and be able to breath. Nature can be kind. I don't know though if I should thank you for reminding me. lol
Sorry i I brought back those memories Bella, I am sure that all went well and that your children became wonderful people in your life.
