Silence.
A place of feeling trapped, overwhelmed, and reactive.
Swirling thoughts, impending danger, analyzing every noise. The TV drowns the silence.
Interrupts the delusion through distraction and eases the mind.
Silence.
A place of feeling free, relaxed, and stable.
Flowing thoughts, ascending peace, oblivious to every disruption. The silence amplifies the internal life.

- Comment from author about the poem: It’s interesting to reflect upon how we cope with silence. This is the one space in which we are completely ourselves with no influence. I discuss the interruption of delusion which begs the question: Is silence an escape from reality or an escape to reality? Some food for thought! Please feel free to share what you think
