Trapped In A Telephone.

Goldfinch60

You see people with them all the time,

You walk along the street

And people are on their ‘phones

Taking no notice of what’s around them.

They don’t care who they annoy

By not looking where they are going.

That have no other life

Except on their ‘phones,

They seem to be trapped

In some sort of prison,

Is that why these ‘phones are called,

Called CELL ‘phones!

A very pertinent question. May be we don't belong to this generation.I really enjoyed it

Were we the same millions of years ago? Did we walk around in a telephone box, down the street, in the park, etc, wherever we went?! lol.

Aha! The 'phoney' generation goldfinch. Picturing u sat in your cafe (or should I call it coffee house in 2022) surrounded by phoneys and writing poetry about them. Gosh, would they know how to react if you spoke to them?

      • Goldfinch60

Thanks d a, I have given poems to people in the 'cafe' many times but not ones that decry what they are doing.

You have struck on a question I have asked myself for a number of years. What does the face of a cell phone have that a human face does not? Unfortunately there is no rehab for this addiction. Great write!

Thank you Bella, so very true.

I think you might be onto something here Andy. Maybe they are prisoners, hypnotized or brain washed through their phones. Soon they will lose all emotional response and just walk about with phone in hand. Maybe, it's time for a new Cell Theory. - Phil A.

Yrs Phil, they just do not care about anything else and they miss so much in lie around them,

I have to laugh when I see someone talking it seems to themselves - we used to label such ones insane not too long ago - whaever next Andy I wonder ?.

I saw a man once standing across the road with both hands near his nether regions and I though he was going to the loo, he was in fact looking at his 'phone!

Yes indeed, whatever next. "BEAM ME UP SCOTTY."
