Jesus said, I am the light

Of the world, I to your sight

Here clear revealed, and they who

Follow me have the light true

 

They shall not walk in darkness

But shall have, shall sure confess

They that have the light of life

E'en through whate'er troubles, strife

 

They shall see the way ahead

Promise of life from the dead

Way of righteous, it shines more

Until perfect day whole, pure

 

Lead us, Lord, to follow on

In the footsteps of your Son

Here firm ground, we shall not slip

Serving you in deed and lip* (*words)
