Somewhere Between Lovers
Torn between
her lovers and insatiable lust ..
She folded like
some old, discarded newspaper
suitably well crushed ..
Then likewise, creased along
the middle
between their fingers and their
well-worn
coarse and calloused thumbs ..
It was, for sure
an untimely and superficial kiss
that signed
and sealed her fate, the day
she was to be
finally flushed with so very much
contempt ..
Like some god-forsaken, discarded
ice-cream wrapper
into an open flooded gutter
somewhere
on its way, to kingdom come ..

Is she on the rubbish dump? Aww, send her to me - or will she be too much for me?!
And what am I on about?! Fido won't let me have any 'excitement'. lol.
I knew you were going to say that .. God bless Fido Mr O 🙂
What am I doing, risking swooning, being 'somewhere between lovers', as 'piggy in the middle'? Why did I turn up just to interfere?! lol.
Yes the result of insatiable lust ends often in heart-wrenching sadness and for both genders too methinks --- you pen a picture deserving of pity dear Nev. - brings tears to the eyes does this haunt of a read.................x
Many thanks Fay, its great to know you have my back covered when I might otherwise feel cornered 🙂 x
Agreed!
That's good to know 🙂
Her paper-thin veneer was finally shattered, and he voracious interior exposed. Her lovers felt like playthings and opted for a more meaningful connection. Love it seems comes in many layers, some deeper than others. We feel a sadness only for the loss of love and what will be her ongoing plight.
A well told scene of lost love told aslant of the actual occurrence. Sometimes, doing so is more difficult than relaying the actuality. A fine poem. I enjoyed it immensely. - Phil A.
I shall have to go & see if I can resurrect an ancient scribble of mine with the title \'Love is Like an Onion\' .. Once again, it seems you can see beneath the layers and write through me Andy ..
Cheers, Neville
LOL - You must be in a rush, Andy's the other guy, and please, don't call me Shirley!
..................................... Ooops, I was kinda in a hurry, sorry Phil 🙂
Very true in many cases Neville but sometimes the true love can arise from these places.
Andy
I believe true love can arise from anywhere .. bless you my little golden wonder .. N 🙂
Lots of great metaphors, I had to chuckle, but perfectly used, like discarded newspaper.. ❤️👍
