Songs Of Yore.

Goldfinch60

It happens so often,

A song is heard,

One I have not listened to,

Not listened to for many years

But I know every word

And sing my heart out

With my mind full,

Full of wonderful memories

Of those days now passed.

there are those who maintain that we never forget anything, problems occur when filing or retrieving stored information that may or may not have been filed in the wrong place, in the first place .. but I know exactly what you mean Andy .. Neville

My older sisters loved his music and i bet i could join you word for word too. As an 'ex singer' in many bands/groups before i took up saxophone im living proof that the average person can remember 96 songs word perfect. But i can't remember any of my poems! Can you remember yours?

Yes, music seems to be a time peg. Years ago at an Ad Agency, I worked for, in NY, we created, on that theme "School House Rock" for children's TV

We headed for Magnetic Island after our exams.
For Buddy we were mourning, (also end of school? Not quite…)
Large shack; one record only was carried to our retreat:
Buddy Holly sung for us all morning evening and night.

A good memory though - Thanks Andy.
