The Strange Woman

Kimani

I bumped into a woman Today,
On the Pathway,
you know, the narrow one near the Bay,
I stopped her and said: 'Hey',
'My name is Samm McKay,
And I have something to Say.,
She said 'Okay, Go ahead, we don't have all Day.'

'Ehm', I cleared my throat in Preparation,
And went ahead to ask my Question,
'What is it with your Fashion?
'A baggy black dress with no Decoration,
From afar it caught my Attention.'
She looked me straight in the eyes and said "Pardon"?
From her tone, it was clear I had caused an Agitation.

She managed to keep herself calm and Began:
"My name is Ayan,
From the Honshu island of Japan,
And I am a Nun.'
She couldn't believe it when I said I had never met One,
She must have thought I was a Caveman,
Or lived in the jungle like Tarzan.

No, I think you can always ask a question. Doesn't matter what one might think about your asking it. They just may welcome the conversation, but nice job on the poem. 🙂
