Doggerel Dave

Notice of absence from Doggerel Dave
Not absent - still here!
Keep Calm and Carry On Poeming. πŸ˜‚

At my vintage I have been known

To have a ‘senior moment’

or two. Worry? No I will not

When others are much worse than I….

My Poetic Side forgets me:

‘Remember Me’ - I tick a box;

Abandoned when I leave the site -

Must re-register every time.

Also Notifications are

Hit and miss - if I don’t respond

I’ve had no time to double check.

Do others suffer – or just me?

Damnation! - I forgot to rhyme………

You need to be hitting the pub, after ten pints senior moments disappear to be replaced with. Come with me sir, we've got a cell with your name on it.

    • Doggerel Dave

I\'ll place that strategy in reserve, Paul.... Thanks though.

When I was cut orf from here, I was on a rather complicated site. Found myself replying about 3 times to the same person. Not the same layout as MPS.

      • arqios

That must be AP. And you are not alone, I too reply an equal number of times as you on the same comment, lol πŸ˜‚

        • Doggerel Dave

Not quite over that one, orchi - I'm only on MPS, don't want to go elsewhere, but I do want a trouble free entry and a smooth running programme.

          • orchidee

Well it is AP. looks a complicated layout to me.

            • Doggerel Dave

              AP????

                • Doggerel Dave

Thanks Rik - had a quick look...Seems complicated and despite all the advice re comments, the ones there don't seem of superior standard to what fetches up here at times... Not a big enough sample?

                  • arqios

Each site has its pockets of brilliance and apparently an alpha set of participants, it’s much like going to school all over again.

                    • orchidee

AP is OK I suppose. But you HAVE to comment on a couple of poems before you can upload your own poem for the day.

                      • Doggerel Dave

Weird - I wasn't considering a switch anyway, just curious. Thanks for your time anyway, orchi.

                      • Fay Slimm.

That's happened tp me at least twice Dave - - - I was refused a re-register too and when your password becomes unaccepted it becomes even worse to try to get in - -- I guess your words will be very familiar to more than a few on this site.

                        • Doggerel Dave

But how did it resolve itself, Fay? I've registered my main complaint (Remember Me) with Julian, but so far he hasn't managed to put it right. I'm here because I hope someone in the crowd might have experienced this and had it solved....

                          • Fay Slimm.

He put it right for me the twice it happened - but I had to wait for a number of days........

                          • arqios

Re-register! Oh the horror! Had that happen to me on 4 sites.

                            • Doggerel Dave

How you manage to attend to four sites, even if you already have your stuff primed to fire, is beyond me, mate.

                              • arqios

Just a sucker for it, I guess

I have not had a problem with MPS as yet. Sometimes I lose a response, but that is due to the sensitivity of my mouse. I use a Mac.

                              • Goldfinch60

I too have never had that problem since being on MPS.. I know Orchi has that problem. All you can do is contact Julian.

                                Andy

                                • Doggerel Dave

So I at least I now know I'm not alone and can put my paranoia away - Thanks for that, Andy.
But has the problem never been resolved?

                                  • Goldfinch60

Orchi still has the odd problem, it is happening to him now.

                                    Andy

I have to say I've never had a problem logging on or getting notifications. However, the rest of my life usually seems like an ongoing senior moment. So I've decided to give it up and live in the moment, because a few moments later it may be gone. Ignorance can be bliss. Thank you for reminding me, I think.

                                    • Doggerel Dave

Well Bella, you were no help at all in solving my problem, were you? But moving on as I try hard not to bear a grudge.... I'm forced to say that to live in the moment seems to be a good strategy, since I haven't much choice... it's all that very early stuff which suddenly turns up in technicolor and causes my toes to curl in embarrassment which bothers me....

Senior moments are becoming a regular expectation for me. Loved the forgotten rhyme. I find myself digging back through some of your older poems. What worries me is when I find in my poems of years ago speaking of my senior moments.

                                      • Doggerel Dave

Soren, go carefully if you are excavating some of my old stuff - there could quite possibly be something there which might.......surprise.....
