Word Worthies

Tune: Albano

('Once, only once, and once for all')

Psalm 119 v.41-48

********

Let your mercies, Lord, come to me

They my salvation be

So shall I have an answer for

They who reproach me sure

And take not your word utterly

From my mouth, let it be

The word I speak, for I trust in

That word e'en from within

For I have hoped in your judgements

And I your law do sense

I shall it keep continual

For ever it my all

And I will walk at liberty

Your precepts do I see

I speak of your testimonies

With them my heart agrees

I will delight myself in your

Commands, for they are sure

I have them loved, and my hands too

I lift in praise to you

I reach out unto your commands

They set unto all lands

I do them love, will meditate

In your statutes not late

Very Davidic in tone and diction. Thanks Orchi... good for the soul.

Thanks CB. The whole Psalm goes on for 176 verses. Can break it down into 22 x 8 verse sections. Now a magnus opus from me - a poem using all 176 verses? Or 22 hymn-poems? lol.
AND an acrostic. Each verse of section 1 starts with Hebrew equivalent of 'A'; section 2 with 'B'' etc.
Well I did a 'discourse' on it, as a 'said' poem, which runs on to 11 pages! Don't think I've posted it on here yet.

Did he get round this acrostic a bit? You know, starting line with 'And' or 'But' or 'The', etc?!
