Tune: Lasst Uns Erfreuen
('All creatures of our God and King')
St Francis of Assisi Day - Oct 4. (1181 - 1226)
*********
Help us, Lord, for your creation
To care, people of each nation
Alleluia, Alleluia!
As Saint Francis did humble show
That all are your creatures, so
Peace and prosperity may grow
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Each animal it has a voice
As you ordained, Lord, it your choice
Alleluia, Alleluia!
Not dumb nor senseless, but feeling
Sentient, aware of each thing
That each day of life does them bring
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Though not worshipping the things made
Yet they in your glory displayed
Alleluia, Alleluia!
But worship you, Lord, Creator
All life comes from you, we concur
And from us to you praises stir
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
Bless those who work and serve for good
Tending to nature as you would* (*will)
Alleluia, Alleluia!
So all to live in harmony
Taking our part diligently
That your kingdom come may we see
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

I do need some help every now and again! A good prayer to have in the pocket for when needed.
Thanks CB. Alleluia time again!

Thanks N.
"All things bright and beautiful
All creatures great and small
All things wise and wonderful
'Twas God that made them all". You have embodied this so beautifully my dear friend. The cadence, the rhyming pattern, it's all exquisite. It is truly a fav!
Thanks Bella. Erm, leaving out the controversial verse - 'The rich man in his castle / The poor man at his gate'....? It's banished from hymn-books I think!
