The age of Gold
Goldfinch on here, I mean
And 'another' birthday?!
And what about my own age too?
Who can know it? Who can guess it?
We're millions of years old (oh, and Fido too!)
We woz there
At Hastings in 1066
Bannockburn in 1314
The Boer Wars, if 'classically' old now
Ohh, and events B.C. too
We know the first day of Earth, us two
Sssh! We're not telling you when it was
And 1969, yes - men on the moon
Goldie and I were there first
We popped round from the other side of the moon
To greet the astronauts when they arrived
Pity I sang to them
And frightened them back to earth
They could have stayed longer
For Goldie's fine coffee
Or a couple of Fido's bones
That's all I had to give them
I hadn't been to the Co-op lately!
It's miniscule by comparison
Being '21 today'
Or saying we must be 22 by now
Compared to us two oldies
I reckon it's Gold's 7,456,865th birthday today
Summat like that! lol.
Well, he done more poems than me
Seeing as I was cut orf for two weeks
Unaccustomed as I am to being cut orf!
These are not our ancestors in the video!
I don't believe in evolution
Though we started on MPS the same day, I think.

Age is but just a number Orchi, and in our case a very big number. Yes we have seen it all happen but you have mad some errors, I mean fancy knocking the ink over on the Magna Carta in 1214 so that it was delayed until 2015!
