Burden Lifted?

Christina8

She is out of the house, yet still here

The burden of her still heavy,

The bills come in so fast

It's hard just to be me.

Antiquated as shit, this old house

has her problems as well

Giving me nightmares, the problems

overrun my mind, oh hell!

Yes she may be out of this big house

But now it's quite empty.

Left to rearrange and clean it

But she is no longer a burden upon me!

  • Fay Slimm.

You pen the burden some carers carry so well here Christina - the time for a rest home is often so welcome and may you soon feel the benefit of more rest yourself after caring for someone so long.

Thank You Fay! Yes it may take me a while to rest up....

I get the feeling you needed a break .. this poem is so very ragged and real, I am sure that many here and elsewhere would be able to relate ........... my guess is that it will take some time to get accustomed to the new space in your house .... Neville

You are certainly right Neville! All this space is getting to me but i'll get used to it for sure. Thanks for the read!

When it becomes more than we can handle, it depletes us of our energy. Loving is to relinquish.
