I’m Trying.

PoeticBiscuit

I’m trying.

To bring back that light,

And those smiles,

Those sweet stomach laughs,

That tickle my ear drums for a while.

I’m trying.

To repair this broken house,

And your heart,

All the screws and nails I use,

Seems it only tears more apart.

I’m trying.

To weather this storm,

And the waves,

The more I wade into the water,

The further it pulls us away.

But I’m trying.

My soul torn to shreds,

Let my wounds stay open,

The blood bringing life to flower beds.

I’m trying.

To keep my head above the water.

The more I kick my feet the more I drift down farther.

I’m trying.

To right this sinking ship,

Scooping out the rushing water,

With a bucket that is ripped.

Do I at least get an A for effort?

Because I’m trying.
