I must go down to the tea again,
To the lonely tea and the pie.
And all I ask is a big plate,
And a fork to eat it by.
And the knife is sharp,
And the gravy is strong,
And my hunger is slaking.
And the plate becomes empty,
With my hunger breaking.
I must go down to the tea again.

A fine write Gold.
I remember in school with music lessons, singing 'On Ilkley Moor B'ah Tat!' Was that the start of all the troubles, i.e. when I first sang? lol.
(The tune fits a hymn too)
Thanks Orchi.
In the Choir I am in we have sang While Shephards Watch to that tune:

Oh I do relish the tea version as that is the best part of the day for me. Good show Andy!
Thank you Rik, much appreciated.

There ainโt nothing like a good cuppa tea:
Though itโs more like a mug โo tea I likes.
Just donโt stint on the leaves and let it be;
Tea a plenty, Iโm contented โ no gripes.
Fun parody, Andy.
Thank you Dave, I enjoy good tea made properly I use Kenya tea at home if I cannot get any Rwanda Burundi.
Andy
Oh Andy - look wot you've done now.- had to pursue this in the interests of broadening my horizons: never heard of either Kenyan or Rwanda Burundi teas. Sussed them out - available here on line - RB teas are recommended with milk. I take my tea strong and neat, ie no milk or sugar. Kenyan teas come in all kinds of variety.
Care to comment?
The Kenya I use is a fine leafed tea. I put just a splash of skimmed milk in my tea but no sugar.
Andy
This is such a fun read my friend! For some reason I now have an overwhelming desire to brew a cup of tea. Now, what about the pie?
Thank you Bella.
Anytime you are passing I can make you a cup of tea and make a pie for you to eat, you would be more than welcome.
