Dividends.
The suchness of love's fragrant adornment
lies much in the way it is made.
Being tenderly constant wears well with
love for without it affection frays.
Through too much negligence love might
forget to count love's costing facts.
Pretending sucks wealth out of intention
as doubt renders love inactive.
Welcome the price paid for a higher than
normal percentage love requests.
Covet love's suchness and, reaping sweet
dividends, invest in success.

Beautiful!
and such elegance in your eloquence dear Fay
your line:
'Welcome the price paid for a higher than
normal percentage love requests.'
reminds me of Bukowski:
'“beware the average man the average woman. beware their love, their love is average. seeks average."
(I feel this is a lesson long lost to much wiser generations: as in
we do not quest for greatness
for its power or rewards
it is so our everyday can be graced
by something more meaningful
than repetitive routines and chores
something
like a love, worth anticipating
and dreaming of
and aspiring towards in each
budding chemistry we're gifted
as opportunity
clinging-on to the hope, this time
it will be 'the one'
as many romcom reruns and tear-stained ice cream tubs
it may take!)
lol

I've a slight problem, though Fido will allow me 'love' but not anything 'hot'! He's a pest sometimes! lol.

To balance the investment in love does indeed require diligence. The careful investor will reap, as you say, the sweet dividends. I love this analogy and your beautiful phrasing. A lovely poem dear friend!
