I sit here in the hotel room
Writing these words,
My lover fast asleep in the bed.
Together on holiday
In the place that we call ‘Our Place’,
The place we first came to together,
Together on holiday.
A hotel full of things to do,
And things to enjoy.
The entertainment is superb
And last night was no exception,
A jazz band taking us back,
Back to the early jazz sounds
With tunes that we know so well
And have been with me all my life.
A wonderful evening,
But even more wonderful
As my lover and I were together,
As we will be forever more.

Please tell the name of that hotel -
I’ve stayed in some duds in my time.
Fawlty Towers had nothing on them:
Short-sheeted bed was one such crime.
The Bembridge Coastal Hotel on the Isle of Wight, Mary and I are here for a few days, it is a great place.

So not so far from Sandown, where my childhood holidays were spent. Thanks Andy.
Dear Andy, I have to say that you had my toes tapping, head swaying and a great big smile on my face as I listened the the musical accompaniment, and read this delightful poem. So much joy that it is infectious, and a fav!
Thank you Bella, much appreciated.
