Searching for Light
What we seem to have here, is another old man
feeling his way, while still above ground,
simply searching for answers ..
Just another old man, drowning real slow,
in the muddle of what his own life has become
now on show, displayed and revealed ..
After all said and done, he’s just another old man
messing with words, searching for light
while still desperate, to find reasons, to die ..

Hello Fay & thank you my friend .. Kind words indeed and very muchly appreciated too .. x
A part of me yells as it says that now dementia doesn’t happen with the old they say…age seems growing while memories keep fading….your words will surely be missed, awaiting your penned thoughts….
Thank you Spills .. I am now returned to my old and still familiar home .. safe n sound but very tired 🙂
Good to hear Neville…to see you back…welcome back home
Hope this respite gives you the peace and space to rejuvenate, and come back reinvigorated and strong. The words have never failed you, that is evident in this poem. Your light shines brightly every time I read your verse, and I am truly grateful for your friendship.
Good mane my time Bella .. I am not long returned and feeling somewhat tired but could not resist popping in here to respond to You and all those others for such positively encouraging and heart-warming comments .. I really do feel blessed .. Now off for a bit of shuteye .............. but before I do, I just want you to know that I echo the sentiment you so kindly left in your concluding sentence .. Neville
Your friendship has been a delight, and helped me grow in so many ways. Thank you!
Emotive words Neville, I know all about dementia, my wife suffered from it and died due to it.
Andy
I know Andy, and I thank you for feeling able to contribute to this particular page .. Neville
Goldie and I are millions of years old. Are you too?!
Well done to get to 800! We both plough on past our 800, churning out summat every day hopefully, even if 'having prepared one earlier' as they say - Blue Peter, in days of Shep, one of Fido's relatives. lol.
No, I am only .............. a gentleman neva tells now does he .. but I do remember good old John Noakes & of course Shep 🙂
I read and these words came to me
(Inevitability, as both curse and mercy
ending's, as opportunity
to reclaim a little dignity
mindset's, pathing our curated fates
old as a positive, to those gleaned wisdom nuggets
we envisage our finite lives and smile
inking our fears free and hiking to our serenity 'hot spot's' of Nature
to download, that legacy bequeathed
by all who came, before
and upload, a few droplets of ourselves
for future generations to find escape within)
thank you! dear Poet
stay safe, cherished friend
Having not long hopped off of the plane and arrived back home, what can this old fella say other than thank you brother Mek .. Thank You my friend ........ Neville
