Mea Culpa

sorenbarrett

I live my life in isolation

Each breath full of trepidation

Infinite in duration

Even lying next to you, I'm alone

To avoid devastation

I reside in hybernation

Each word an atheistic oblation

I grow cold to the very bone

Is it just the situation?

Or maybe habituation?

That results in hesitation.

Whichever, you lie there like a stone

Trying to talk of this frustration

Is more painful than castration

So the conversation

I postpone

Perhaps not to the 3rd to the last line but the postponement is real. And the reasons aren't always the logical kind. TFS Soren.

Thanks crypticbard for your review. Often reasons are not of the logical kind which is why some say one excuse is as good as another.

Thanks Goldfinch for the review. Emotive is what usually moves me. Appreciate the words.

I love the rhyming pattern and cadence of this piece, it makes me want to read it aloud in one breath. It's energy is palpable and truly serves to enhance the emotion of a painful relationship. Well done dear friend!
