I rise from my bed,
Open the curtain
And there shining on me
Is the full moon.
A sight so wonderful
That always brings joy,
Brings joy to my heart.
I look into its depths
And know it has always been there,
Been there in my life
Just looking down on me,
And bringing wonder to all.
When I see it I am reminded
Reminded of Neil Armstrong
When he landed on the moon
And those first words he said
When he stepped on the moon
“They are here”

Nice writing )) the moon is pretty and I think some people are even very sensitive to it’s energy
So true Violet, the full moon always seems to bring me good thoughts.
Andy
'They' were us, of course, as you say, stepping out from behind the other side of the moon to greet the astronauts upon their arrival.
Ooh, it was not broadcast. Earthlings will never know it was us two! lol.
They certainly will not know that Orchi.
Andy
We're not human, us two. Well, we're half human, or summat like that!
I was gonna do my corny werewolf joke for the full moon. Do you know it?
Thought he said, “one small step for man”,
And “one giant leap for mankind”.
Either way they’ve just got a plan:
Ignore the poor – leave them behind.
Forget all this Andy – enjoy your romantic view of the moon, but make no mistake, governments and wealthy individuals will continue to pour money into space exploration, while ignoring so many needs here on earth. Your moon will not be/has not been for some time a pristine environment.
Very true DAve, but the romantic view of the moon is there for us all.

It was a blood moon tonight and we had a fine time watching the spectacle! The planet Uranos also made an appearance.
Thanks for your great comments Rik, much appreciated.

And thanks for your much welcome comments Andy, they are truly appreciated.
Rik.
Dear Andy, once again you have chosen one of my favorite subjects. It's no accident that Earth Day was created just a few months after Neil Armstrong and crew sent pics of earth from space. The famous Earthrise photo gave us a view of earth never before seen, our earth hanging in space, home to all humanity. We realized the need to protect it. I think that was worth a trip to the moon. I stand outside each night and say goodnight to the moon, helps me keep the perspective of my place in the universe. Thank you for this lovely tribute and the song, it just couldn't be better.
Thank you so much for your lovely words Bella, yes those photos of the earth were stunning.
May the moon bring wonder to your world.
Andy
Very good stuff Andy! We watched the eclipse and the rise of Ouranos, a double show.
Sounds like a great time Rik.
