There we were at the garden centre,
Sitting in our favourite coffee house
Drinking with friends.
I needed to go and buy something
So I walked out of the coffee house
And walked towards the garden centre.
It was a beautiful sunny day,
And quite warm.
I had no coat on
Just my short-sleeved shirt,
But all around me
People were dressed for winter,
Thick coats, jumpers and scarves.
Why is it that many people dress like this?
They dress for the time of year,
Not for how the weather is on the day.
Yes it was in the middle of November
But the weather was sunny and warm.
Do they not understand the weather.

- Comment from author about the poem: Why do many people dress for the time of year and not for what the weather is like? The video shows one of the songs that the choir I am in is singing at our next concert.

I gotta get me gloves out soon, when it's 'normal' temperatures for this time of year! Good write Gold.
Thanks Orchi.
You just observed ex Boy Scouts and Girl Guides;
They adhered to their well known principle:
“Be Prepared”, and after all, who decides? -
Weather forecasts change and are so supple.
Best wishes for your concert, Mate - the human voice in unison - Great.
Be prepared may well be drilled into many but it was too hot for what many were wearing.
Thanks for your good wishes, we actually sing in four part harmony and it is great.

I get what you mean, they look the part but swelter or melt because all of it is asynchronous! The video literally made my hairs stand on end. I have partiality to Sting's version but this is not to be scoffed. Hope there is a recording of your choir's version to listen to!!! Thanks Andy.
So true Rik.
I doubt there will be a recording of us but the choir has been together now for about 13 years and I was a founder member of it and it is so enjoyable.
