I have lived a great life
And come to my old age
Looking back with gladness.
I feel that I am truly wealthy,
I may not have wealth in money
But I am so grateful,
So grateful for what I have,
What I have and had in my life,
My long, long life.
I am still here
And will be forever.

I cannot but endorse this more -
Except perhaps your last line.
You stick around – I’m off before,
Before the world’s troubles combine.
Thank you Dave. You have no need to go as I don't think the troubles will find you in Oz.

🙂You\'d be surprised, Andy.
BTW Every other line was perfect - I could quite easily say precisely the same thing. Rang so many bells.....
A fine write Gold. When did us two become 'old age', as we're millions of years old? Was it at about our 4 millionth birthdays?!
Thanks Orchi. Yes it was about our 4 millionth birthday when our old age started many millennia ago.

Suddenly I am reminded of the king in 'Ever After' when he said to his errant son, "Then I shall have to live forever!"
Well why not, I will but not necessarily in this body that I now have.

Good one Andy. Love that response!
I feel the same way Gold and I feel and endorse your last line.

My smile grows broader with each line! Your joy is so palpable and infectious. You have put into words so many things that I think to myself each day. We should start a 70 something club. Who knows, maybe we will go on forever!
Thank you Bella, yes we will go on forever and live our dreams.
