Scatter Sunshine.

Goldfinch60

Turn on the radio, open the paper,

Switch on the television,

And what to you see.

You see the bad in this world.

I know there is good,

But it does not make the news.

Life is wonderful,

This wonder must be shown.

So why not encourage all

To be positive,

Encourage good within people,

Scatter sunshine all around.

It may work,

You may not know

Whose life you may touch,

You may touch them

With something so simple,

As a smile,

Or a kind word.

So go on,

Scatter sunshine.

    Good write Gold.

Good news today, I came upon this poem and its maker, a friend named Andy. Weekend sunshine and the only display in the sky to focus on, there being no good news making the news reports.

    • Goldfinch60

Thank you Rik, let us tell the good news as there is a great deal of it.

A very worthy composition so we should always keep doing goodness who knows whom we are servings. Beautiful.

Thank you bellflower, yes it is so true that the smallest of things we do for others can mean such a great deal to them.

          true.

Andy there is too little of this. Years ago, in Brazil, the news would balance bad news with good news, not so today. Times have changed, and not for the better. You're right it is up to each individual to take it upon himself to brighten his and other's days.

          • Goldfinch60

Thank you soren, yes the world has changed and not necessarily for the better.

I’m out of this then; good will is the proof:
If you want to drown people with a smile,
That’s one way of denying them a roof
And food; instead benevolence will rile.

            • Goldfinch60

Good will is part of the sunshine in life, helping others is all part of it. I help all when I can but can do it with a smile.

as soon as I saw the title, I just knew there would be a ray of sunshine contained therein .. and of course, I was write .. and not only that .. good things, like kindness, compassion, and giving unselfishly are all too frequently overshadowed by stories in the media that should never get there in the first place .. but again sadly, tis bodies on slabs that sell newspapers .......... kindness costs nowt does it and a smile can be priceless .. you are so right Andy .. often a smile serves to do nothing but confuse and confound ..Neville

                    • Goldfinch60

Thank you for your kind words Neville. I get some very strange looks sometimes Neville but the majority do smile back.

                      Andy
