Tomorrow is a lie
Don't put your trust in illusory dreams
Kiss yesterday goodbye
Don't spend your days in mists of memories
All we have is today
Don't let it escape from your clasp
Don't let it slip away
Hang on, cling, clutch, hold it tight in your grasp
Tomorrow remains estranged
The smoke of time by the whirlwind is carried
Sediments of years can't be rearranged
Don't exhume the dead, leave them buried

good write S.
Thank you so much for your review
This poem touches every nerve. Truer words were never spoken. Each day is ours to make, and cherish, if only we have the wisdom to realize it. A very powerful write my friend, can't help but be a fav.

Thank you for your review and comments.
All I have is now - dead right Soren.
The 'dead' may well be true of tomorrow, but today is here, I have it, can use it. Yesterday cannot be changed.
Confirm I understood every word of your poem. Important principle engaged with here.
Dave thanks for the read. I know you read it in the present but now that is the past. Hopefully you'll read something else in the future. I wonder what you are reading now. Oh yea it must be this.
Every moment in our lives is so special, live in the now soren.
Andy

life-affirmingly powerful message!
thanks for sharing dear Poet
'life's climb is ever easier
if we empty our baggage
as we go
if we carry too much regret
doubt we'll make it far
before we break down...)
Thank you L.B. For your review and insightful words. We often carry unnecessary burdens.
