Blessed Laughter.

Goldfinch60

In life there is a cure all,

It is called laughing.

There are so many things,

Things that amuse us,

Amuse us in our lives.

We see them most days

And laughter bursts from us,

Filling our hearts and minds with relief,

Relief from the pressures,

The pressures that come in our lives.

Sometimes we do not laugh,

So in that case we need to remember,

Remember that we can be blessed,

As we who can laugh at ourselves

Will never cease to be amused.

Some folk just don't get the jokes, or are humourless.
But what 'comedy' shows are there today? Mostly cringe-worthy ones where we say 'Laugh? I never even started!'
I think of late-night shows: 'There's more rubbish I've missed' as I'm in bed by then.

You are right Orchi, the modern comedians are not a patch on those of our youth.

      Have a look at this:

Stand-up comedians are the worst. More than half of it is filth.

Whilst laughter may not in itself be the panacea we are all looking for .. it most certainly bloomin well helps ................. Neville 🙂

          It certainly does Neville.

Ella Wheeler Wilcox gave it a shot,
Although others had done so before.
Seems a universal truth, is it not?
And you are the latest since times of yore.

There are some universal truths which need to be freshly presented every so often as a reminder, lest they be forgotten – thanks Andy
(Victor Borge would give anyone a great laugh – including me years ago, though this one I’d never seen… Thanks again, Andy.)

            Thanks Dave, my pleasure.

I saw Victor Borge live on stage once, he was so funny.

Joy and laughter are a necessity for happiness. The rest is just toothpaste!

There is good reason why laughter is the best medicine. We even make light of bad situations by finding something humorous as a coping mechanism. Everything you say is oh so true, we are blessed! You've chosen a honey of a clip with Victor Borge. I remember seeing him as a youngster, and as I watched I was laughing out loud, his timing was impeccable. Now I'll be driven to You Tube to find more. Thank You!!!

                Very true Bella.

I saw Victor Borge live on one occasion and he was so funny.

You hit on the trait I feel is the best of healers my friend. - Laughter comes easily to those who light-hearted look for things to amuse and usually doing thus brings many blessings - - thanking you Andy for sharing this thought.

                • Goldfinch60

Thank you Fay, my absolute pleasure.

Took a boomerang to a field and gave it a toss. it sailed spinning wildly thirty feet or more. Turned and came back.
                  Oh my says I.
                  I paid Five Dollars...

...to throw a stick at myself.

These things happen but you still have to laugh at them.

Laughter, the best medicine. Bringing me back to the old days of RD (Reader's Digest pre-80s). This week me and the wifey were rolling on the floor laughing at the silliest things. Good timing for this uplifting poem! Thanks Andy.

Laugh away Rik it is always good to laugh.
