Now That My Lady Is Gone

Now That My Lady Is Gone

Now that my lady is gone away

I would much rather

be somewhere or somebody else

I really don’t like me or

what I’ve become, I would rather

be somewhere or somebody else

Ouch! I bet you liked your self well enough before she appeared though. Look what she's done to you. There's a lot of it about.

I have never particularly liked myself and learning to live with me has not always been easy either ..

My dearest friend, a different person emerges and it takes time to get to know him. Be kind to him, comfort him, take good care of him because he is well worth it, and with patience, he will find the way to forgive himself, and even love the person he is. I've been there, done that, and it is a journey worth taking.

Sage advice indeed from one, whom this little old scribbler truly values as a literary friend & unconditionally respects .. Many thanks Bella 🙂

Honesty wins hands down in these few lines of truthful reflection - -- parting from loved ones my friend is and ever has been so so hard........ x

            Good write, Neville.
I duck as many reflections as I can but when one hits it hurts.

There are loves in our life that hit us this way. And we will ever rue the day.
Companionable empathy on this relatable poem. One for all of us who have thusly travelled in life. Thanks N.

I am most grateful to you for stopping to consider these words of mine .. and for your reasoned and otherwise encouraging remark .. cheers 🙂

Dunno about being someone else, but I do vainly (of course) wish I could go back and rectify those occasions where I acted less than honorably to another or made embarrassing missteps.... memories that all too frequently pop into my head at this time of my life...

Likewise .. but in your case, I guess that would be akin to teaching an old dog new tricks .. 🙂

We all have these problems in life but they can be got over and life can be and will be good.
