The thrill of hiding those special moments and hoping nobody else notices is expertly captured in these three beguilingly short lines - - I see that like me you like the word Covert mon ami...........................x.

      thanks Fay ........ x

Liking this N and not an e'ermore in sight! It's 'alway' that's a problem. Don't publishers realise it's poetic, and that poetry is, erm, poetic?! It does not always have to be 'always'.
End of waffle or guff, or rabbiting on!

publishers generally only want to make money .. but I think I get you ........ maybe 🙂

Will they 'alway' refuse my poem submissions? lol.

          (eye to eye, promises
          covertly playful whispers
all is fair, in craving thoughts
          and imagined fantasies
          till
          we seek reality's, sensations...)
          it's all fun n games
          till drinks are involved
          then tis all
          'but it meant nothing dear'
          confessions
and spilt tears over a moments
          foolish choices
          but then society, as whole
          claps and laughs, like heartbreaks
          are Christmas pantomime punchlines
and we all learn to move on
like betrayal is a pill, everyone learns to swallow
so no reason to endlessly, wallow
          (erm
so maybe I've still got some issue to be resolved
          ... maybe)
          lol

one or two .............................. maybe .. but I'm gonna look the other way & nod my thanks in your vague direction 🙂

The reveal, voluntarily or otherwise, and later the resulting silent knowing, the open secret, secret still.

            • Neville

              Shhh' don't say a word

              • arqios

                Not a whisper!

Moments we conceal, and choose not to reveal, but hold onto with zeal and a sly smile. Captivating my friend!

PS: searched 'pantomime' in relation to poetry....glad it only rated a 'maybe'....
