Joy And Freedom.

Goldfinch60

The Choir met for the last time,

The last time this year,

A wonderful year of singing,

Singing with such pleasure.

Every week we met and sang,

Sang our hearts out,

Sang for the love of music.

It always takes us to a different place,

A place of joy and freedom

Where troubles are forgotten,

Where we do the thing we love,

We all just love to sing.

The concerts we gave were wonderful

The audiences stood and cheered,

Cheered at us when we finished.

That is such a bonus

As we know our glory,

Our glory to sing

Is given out to the world,

The world of others

That they me also come,

Also come to that place,

That place of joy and freedom

Where we go every week.

We know we will be back,

Be back in the New Year

And sing our hearts out,

Sing our hearts out once more.

Was I there? Did I get the refreshments ready, and add water to any tipples?!

We sang in our Methodist Church and alcohol is not allowed in Methodist Churches.

          every time
          thank you!
let your lungs enjoy their well-earned break my friend
help'em along with a sip or two of the good stuff
just to keep them warm, πŸ˜‰

Andy I have always loved music, it can reach deep into the soul and heart, maybe more than poetry. It is poetry with a beat and melody. Nicely done.

Very true soren, music can bring all emotions to me.

I know I queried about a video clip but a sound recording can be put up on soundcloud. An idea rather belatedly but there you go, a long about way of saying wish we were there with you Andy!

                • Goldfinch60

You would always be welcome Rik but it is rather a long journey for an evenings entertainment. LOL.

                  Hallelujah,
                  You all did sing -
                  Next year, β€˜see ya
                  Can’t wait for spring.

Late again, Andy - Apologies (I'm working on a shorter 'quatrain' next time....)

                  • Goldfinch60

No problem Dave, thank you for your words.

                    Andy
