"The cost of living"

Seems so paradoxical

Worth the price we pay?

  • Comment from author about the poem: I originally posted this poem as "The Price of Living", when it should have been "The Cost of living", just wanted to avoid any confusion with the edit that I tried to do. It is in senryu form, if not familiar.

It is what keeps many (but certainly not all) with their 'nose to the grindstone and their shoulder the wheel'.
I personally cannot complain, but I have a feeling there should be another way...and that's being super polite about it!

Good words Bella, what is the cost of living nowadays?

Just looking around our world, the cost of living takes its toll in so many ways. You can't equate the monetary value with the pain and suffering trying to survive in this world causes so many. Thank you Andy, your question is perfect!

What worries me is the cost of dying. I can't afford to die, it costs more than living. Thanks for reminding me of these costs.

Sorry to be the harbinger of doom, seems like we get the short end of the stick either way. Thank you for reading my friend, we'll make it through.
