Jigsaw

sorenbarrett

Have you ever had a puzzle where the pieces didn't fit

An enigma that left the mind unable to cease or quit

Did some have the wrong picture others the wrong shape

Were others too big, did some from the box escape

Did you ever try to force them into places where they would bind

Did you have to look outside the box for pieces you couldn't find

Was what you completed laughed at, not being understood

When you finished were you told, what you did, any child could

Thank you so much for stopping by and reviewing this write. Your comments are very generous. This poem came to mind when thinking of writing poetry which is like a jigsaw puzzle and often not understood or made fun of.

you are right ..this happens a lot..not all minds are able to understand the emotions we write in words ..and thinks of it as something absurd ...

'Analogy' is not quite right; neither is 'metaphor' - But I'm here to tell you that much of my life felt like that, Soren.
Polished little summary - I've always thought of it as a tortuous path with many wrong turnings, but yours is a portrait which makes just as much sense.

Dave, thanks for the read. Your analysis is spot on. When I wrote this I was thinking about life but then it seemed that it applied to writing as well. Thanks for the kind words

Those enigmas are often within us soren but we do need to think outside the box sometimes to get the right answers, many do not see this as an answer.
