Quitting time

sorenbarrett

If I should die before I finish this tale, please don't me bewail

It's been a most beautiful ride and I am totally satisfied

Although I've laughed and cried, I've had nothing to hide

I always knew that when it was through

Succeed or fail no more tickets would be for sale

To have lived life well and fully is to be hoped for. When you can say that, you truly have all the riches of the world. Beautifully phrased dear friend.

Although I have just taken a trip to Brazil, I have not immediate plans for a trip to the great beyond. However, you never know and it is the illness's of some dear friends and fellow poets alike that spawned this write.

I fear we all have these scribbles
whether we voice them or not
that looming finite in our horizons
        insures, we do
(a relatable wording, and cheers to you!
