View from an airplane window

🐤s.zaynab.kamoonpuri🌷🐦😽

Oh, everything looked far
like tiny toy cars
Living things hurrying
Everything scurrying
And they appeared like doll's houses
or little women walking
in wee coats and teeny blouses
Even big men appeared smaller than boys
as everything seemed dwarfed to mobile toys
And tiny looked the trees
beside rivers and seas
Ah, and ooh the city of light
Dubai lightings so bright
A sea of lights at night! !
Ooh, I'll always love those plane window seats,
At times kind strangers of passengers
favor me with such treats.
Takeoffs and landings always afford us
a fine spectacular view
The scenery's poetic, the feel great
when the plane goes askew.
As God's world is reduced to miniature, to linear scale size
as we watch, as we rise, high up into the skies.

What a beautiful poem dear poet. The rhyming scheme flows so peacefully and lyrically. Seen from afar, our world is breathtaking. Thank you for sharing this wonderful view in verse!

This is a beauty of a poem.

Reminding us that we are so small. In the grand scheme of this generous and ginormous earth.

    🙂

You capture so well the thrill of flight over mountains and valleys and compare with good rhyme all the differing sizes when looking down from great height at people and towns. A poem to read over again dear poet so this one goes into my list of favourites and thank you for sharing your your "view from an airplane window".

                      indeed, we need only elevate
                      our perspective's, point of view
                      to find all that wonder
that made our childhoods, such adventures..
                      wonderful enthusiasm, such evocative wording
                      thanks for sharing dear Poet

                      • Rocky Lagou

                        This is so marvelously depicted!
Dubai is breathtaking, and your descriptions are, too!
I love the way you described the scenery as "poetic," a word you wouldn't usually attribute to something visual, but it's so apt in this context.
                        Thanks for this beautiful poem,
                        And Happy New Year!

                      • Qurrathul Ain

The poem had the power to conjure it all up in my head. It just makes us realize how tiny we are in this big wide world. Beautiful!
