Tune: Tempus Adeste Fidelis

('Good King Wenceslas')

********

Light and life and salvation

Christ brings every nation

Hear again the joyful tale

Repeated, shall ne'er fail

God so loved the world, he gave

Christ to us, to us save

One born to redeem mankind

Other Son we ne'er shall find

Come, join lowly mange scene

Shepherds there, they had seen

Baba amidst the cattle laid

In manger there displayed

Animals in wonderment

Gazed on Him, the Son sent

From the Father, he the Light

Of the world to banish night

Look, Lord, on our poverty

You born low and humbly

With poor you identify

To vulnerable nigh

Justice and equality

Change our hearts, so there be

Loving, sharing, helping free

Each reach full destiny

For a while on earth you stayed

In person you displayed

God the Father, Him revealed

Was not to us concealed

Now you send your Spirit, He

Person of God too be

In redeemed hearts He does dwell

That we others gospel tell

I especially loved the third stanza of this poem, it speaks to all that should be. The song, so satirically and solemnly sung, is perfect. Kudos to you for posting it, and the family that performed it.
