  • Comment from author about the poem: I thought of a poem that was as short as its title. Although not as short as the poem Fleas “Adam had em” it is still probably my shortest. Here the title is integral to the poem itself and goes deeper than the surface

In the UK we were about to trust in (Liz) Truss - but she vanished in a puff of smoke! So we didn't trust in Truss. Doh!

      • sorenbarrett

Thanks Orchidee, it's best not to trust in a truss they are too rigid. It is best to prevent the hernia in the first place.

Re-arranging the furniture on a sinking ship?
Or are the rats deserting a sinking ship?
Heigh-ho, me hearties, fix any leaks in the ship, and we carry on

'ashes to ashes, dust to dust
        our footprints
        harvesting our Time on earth'
        and on
        that cycle of life
we need but find that one more
        step, breath, blink
till, its all dreams as our essence
        of unfathomable, existence
        and on
        (love this, dear Poet)

You've captured in seven words what we face each day, the progress of life on this planet. Simply and sagely penned dear poet.

        • sorenbarrett

Thank you Bella for most generous words
