Tune: Stuttgart

('Earth has many a noble city')

Matthew 2 v.8-12

*********

Herod he did send the wise men

To Bethlehem, pretence then

That he would worship child Jesus

Born a Saviour unto us

Wise men left and followed the star

Seen in the east, they came far

On their journey, till star did rest

O'er home of Christ-child e'er blest

When they saw the star, exceeding

Joy unto them did it bring

For it be the Epiphany

Revealed Son of God, so be

They saw Him with mother Mary

Fell down before Him freely

And worshipped him, treasures they gave

He came His people to save

They presented gifts to Him there

Gold and frankincense did share

And myrrh, then they planned their return

To Herod, but they did learn

Learnt of God in a dream not to

Go to Herod, he not view

Jesus, for they to own country

Went back by other way, see

I was writing about Jesus earlier,
After Ukraine war, I honestly feel,
All the countries that perpetrated the war,
Are all the followers of Jesus only
And so temporarily I have given up Jesus,
As He has failed to arrest the war,
When children misbehave, we tell parents,
    When devotees misbehave, their God
Must be doubted for nor rectifying,
I don't support Ukraine or Russia,
But, the war is totally unnecessary,
First I never wanted to comment,
But the beauty of your song made me,
Do that compulsorily as not patting is a sin!
